Summary

I’ve always liked the comfortable experience brought by classic Crocs clogs, so I wasn’t that surprised when the Crocs Classic All Terrain Clog delivered the same comfort – along with some extras to sweeten the deal. This clog has the OG Crocs clog silhouette that continues to be loved by countless Crocs fans worldwide, with enough room inside to allow my foot to shift and flex. This made it easier for me to avoid painful foot cramping, especially when I’d been on my feet for hours. I liked how it can be jazzed up with Jibbitz charms, which I can also easily remove or replace. The extremely lightweight construction weighed next to nothing, helping me move around in the most comfortable way since I didn’t have excess bulk pulling my foot down. I loved the heel strap because of its adjustable design, giving me the chance to customize the clog’s fit for a more stable walking experience. While other Crocs clogs have a heel strap that can be shifted up or down, most of them can’t be tightened or loosened, so they may not fit as perfectly as this all-terrain model.

I appreciated the upper’s structure, as it came with perforations that not only accommodated the Jibbitz charms, but also worked to increase breathability by allowing more air to get in. These holes helped dispel excess warmth and moisture from inside, protecting my foot from getting sweaty and overheated even in hot conditions. The larger holes on the clog’s sides worked to increase ventilation, at the same time encouraging water to quickly escape. This ensured that the interior won’t stay wet for a long time after it’s been submerged in water and other liquids. The clog offered superb flexibility that I truly enjoyed, as it instantly adjusted and moved along with my steps, making walking very comfortable. I especially liked the outsole’s enhanced tread structure, as it had a stronger grip on different surfaces compared to the classic Crocs clog. This strong traction helped me maintain my stable footing on tricky ground conditions without compromising my comfort in any way. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the clog’s structure so you can determine which qualities are the most beneficial, and which ones can still be improved on for increased performance.

To keep you walking steadily across tricky terrains, this product offers the comfort you love in classic Crocs clogs with a grippier structure.

Ideal For

  • Fans of classic Crocs clogs who need high-traction soles
  • Indoor and outdoor use
  • Those after comfortable, lightweight clogs

Performance Analysis

Comfort

I was expecting the Crocs Classic All Terrain Clog to be at least as comfy as the classic Crocs clog, and I’m happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed with my experience. The proprietary Croslite material cradled my foot with ample softness to keep pain at bay, especially with long hours of walking or staying upright. What I liked about this soft structure is the way it sort of molded to my foot’s shape, making my foot sink into the surface just enough to keep it comfy. At the same time, the material delivered reliable support that helped keep my foot in its proper alignment, so it stayed in its proper position as I walked around.

I liked how the Croslite base also delivered a slightly bouncy feel that further increased the comfy feeling, bringing back the energy to my steps so it was easier for me to walk for longer without suffering from pain.

I felt like the bounce propelled my steps, so I was able to move and walk around while avoiding the discomfort that usually comes with staying upright for extended periods. What made this clog stand out when it comes to comfort is its exceptionally flexible structure, as it didn’t get in the way of my foot’s natural movements.

I loved how the clog instantly flexed along with my steps, cradling my foot with a supportive base while accommodating the natural gait.

This promoted a truly comfortable sensation, since there weren’t stiff materials underfoot to dig in painfully and restrict my movements. I discovered that the clog was flexible enough to be folded nearly in half, offering not only comfort but also convenience, as it can be packed into a smaller bundle to fit into tight spaces. I welcomed the upper’s construction that was just as flexible as the sole, quickly adapting to my natural walking motion without biting into my skin the way stiff rubber or leather uppers do. Even the part near the toes felt pliable enough to move along with my steps, preventing the upper from becoming too stiff, as it easily flexed to accommodate my movements. I was a bit worried that the heel strap with the small Croslite material built into it would feel a bit uncomfortable with long hours of use. Fortunately, this component didn’t rub painfully against the back of my foot, enabling me to maximize the secure fit without suffering from blisters even with prolonged periods of walking.

I liked how the large holes on the sides helped maintain a dry foot environment as it encouraged liquids to quickly move out, especially after the clog was submerged in wet elements when I walked in puddles or when I stepped on extremely wet ground conditions.

Image

Weight

I loved how lightweight this clog felt because it didn’t pull down on my foot with extra weight, making this footwear an ideal companion for all-day walking or standing. I assumed it would weigh a bit more because of the robust outsole construction and with the adjustable heel strap in place, but I was happy to realize that it still had the same comfortably lightweight profile as the classic Crocs clog.

Image

Traction

This clog was constructed with a more aggressive tread pattern compared to the OG Crocs clog. The result was an outsole that had a strong grip on different surfaces, preventing me from easily slipping even when I was walking rapidly. The clog helped maintain my stable steps over tricky indoor and outdoor surfaces, giving me the confidence to walk normally and even a lot more quickly without worrying that my safety would be compromised in the process.

Image

Fit and Sizing

This clog is true to its size and offers a comfortable relaxed fit. I chose my usual size 10 and enjoyed the remarkable roominess, enabling my foot to budge when needed so it didn’t feel like it was squished into a too-tight space. My toes also had enough wiggle room, so it was much easier for me to avoid painfully cramped feet, especially when I stayed upright for long hours at a time. However, if you’re after a more secure fit, it might be best to downsize, especially when you’re planning to use the clog without socks for the most part. Going down a size will make the clog fit more securely and can make it more supportive.

Image

Waterproofing

The Croslite material itself doesn’t allow liquids to penetrate. However, since the clog was designed with holes on top and larger ventilation ports on the side, it easily lets in not only air but wet elements as well. The non-waterproof design makes this clog unsuitable for those who’d prefer to keep their foot dry in wet conditions.

Image

Breathability

Breathability wasn’t a problem with this clog. The upper features holes that allowed plenty of air to get in, helping maintain the cool and fresh feeling for much longer as perspiration and warmth were allowed to quickly dissipate. The continuous airflow stopped an overheated feeling from developing, especially with prolonged footwear use in hot surroundings. The holes on the upper and on the sides also helped with moisture and heat dispersion, preserving the dry and cool environment inside the clog for superior comfort. Of course, the opening at the back also had a significant effect on breathability, encouraging good ventilation throughout the clog to prevent it from becoming too warm when it was used for hours.

Quality and Durability

I knew I could depend on the Crocs Classic All Terrain Clog not only for comfort but also for long-lasting strength.

I liked its construction that’s made with a single piece of Croslite, eliminating the structural issues that may arise when using footwear that’s been built with glued-on components.

The solid construction is designed to withstand being used and abused for a long time, giving me the assurance that I’d be able to use this clog extensively in different environments without fearing premature damage.

I loved this clog’s lightweight profile because it made me feel almost like I had nothing on my foot, making it easier to walk around freely because I didn’t need to deal with excess weight pulling my foot down with each step.

The Croslite material was very easy to clean, so I didn’t have a hard time keeping the clog looking and feelig properly maintained. The mud and dirt that may have built up on the clog’s surfaces were quickly washed away, making it quite convenient for me to maintain the footwear’s superb aesthetics for a long time. I appreciated the quick-drying material because it enabled me to more easily clean and maintain the clog without spending a lot of time waiting for it to completely dry. Personalizing this clog was a breeze, thanks to the perforations on top that allowed me to put on my choice of Jibbitz charms for that jazzed-up look. This clog had the same robust look as the OG Crocs clog, but it came with an enhanced outsole that offered a higher level of traction. I liked this outsole’s more aggressive tread pattern, as it bit strongly into different surfaces, keeping my footing steady even when I needed to move at a rapid pace to prevent slipping. This stronger traction makes this clog an ideal partner for navigating not only indoor floor conditions but also outdoor terrains that the classic clog might not be able to safely navigate. My foot enjoyed the clog’s superb breathability because of the holes on top of the upper that kept the air flowing freely into and throughout the clog. These holes prevented heat and moisture from building up, encouraging them to instead dissipate before turning the clog into a virtual oven, especially with long hours of use in humid or hot surroundings. I also liked the ventilation ports that were integrated into the sides because they allowed liquids to easily move out, making the interior dry out a lot faster after the clog was used in puddles or on extremely wet surfaces. I was impressed with the turbo heel strap that can be adjusted from both sides, unlike the straps fitted into classic Crocs clogs that can only be shifted up and down, and from the back to the front (and vice-versa). This heel strap offered a convenient way of customizing the fit for added security and stability while walking on different surfaces. I loved the remarkably flexible structure that fully adjusted to my foot’s movements for a truly comfortable experience. The upper and sole easily flexed to accommodate my steps, delivering superb comfort because there were no restrictive components that would’ve dug painfully into my foot with every step. The Croslite sole offered a soft and supportive base that cradled my foot comfortably throughout the day. I especially liked the slightly bouncy sole, as it helped ward off discomfort while also propelling my steps, increasing my energy so it was easier to stay on my feet for longer. Even with the comfy softness, the sole still kept my foot supported in its proper position, enhancing the stable feeling while I walked on various ground conditions.

It’s worth noting that this clog isn’t waterproof, though, so it’s not the best choice if you want to keep your foot dry while working outdoors and in other settings exposed to wet elements.

The Challengers

Toffeln Eziklogs V2.0 Clog

The Toffeln Eziklogs V2.0 Clog is made with an EVA material that follows the foot’s contours for ample cushioning without compromising the supportive structure. The lightweight profile doesn’t pull the foot down with extra weight, making this an ideal footwear choice for doctors, hospital staff, and other professionals who need to stay on their feet for long hours. The streamlined silhouette blends nicely with different attire, enabling you to maximize the footwear in various environments. The heel strap can be moved to the back or front so you can easily achieve a comfortable and secure fit, allowing you to confidently walk with the clog firmly in place. The GripSafe Extreme pattern offers outstanding slip resistance to help maintain your steady footing as the clog strongly grips the ground, preventing slipping accidents while navigating tricky surface conditions. The ComfortTech cushioning acts as the clog’s shock absorber, dispersing impact to protect the foot from becoming fatigued with long hours of walking or standing. It can get a bit too warm in hot settings, though, as the upper portion doesn’t have ventilation holes.

Hunter Original Play Clog

The Hunter Original Play Clog comes with a strong rubber upper that protects the foot from hazards in the surrounding area. This material can easily be cleaned so you don’t need to spend a lot of time and effort on keeping the clog’s well-maintained appearance. The unadorned design exudes a sleek look that pairs nicely with casual attire for an effortlessly laidback aesthetic that you can enjoy in different settings. The tip of the clog has a slightly raised structure, giving the toes enough room to freely wiggle so they won’t easily cramp even when you use the clog for extended periods. The wedge heel provides a height boost while increasing the support from underneath, making it easier to walk around stably. The soft collar gently lays against the skin to minimize the risk of chafing, while the interior lining embraces the foot with a welcoming texture to promote comfortable walking. However, this clog doesn’t have holes on top, so breathability can be an issue, especially with extended use in humid or hot environments.

Muck Boot Company Muckster II Shoe’s

The Muck Boot Company Muckster II Shoe’s waterproof construction completely seals out water, mud, and other liquids, making it suitable for gardening and other activities that involve exposure to wet elements. It has a layer made with 4mm of neoprene that hugs the foot’s contours in the most comfortable way, promoting an almost customized feel while stopping the entry of cold air. This layer also increases the shoe’s snug fit not only for comfort but also to ensure that dirt and other debris won’t have a chance to get in. The air mesh lining keeps the interior well ventilated as it allows air to flow freely, preventing the build-up of sweat and excess warmth so the foot can enjoy the cool environment for longer. The flexible, lightweight construction follows the foot’s movements without a restrictive feeling and doesn’t weigh the foot down with extra bulk. The antimicrobial enhancement works to stop bacterial growth for odor control. The outsole offers good traction to keep you moving steadily across muddy or wet ground conditions. The shoe’s snug fit may not be comfy for those with wide feet, though, or for people who prefer roomy footwear.

Birkenstock Super-Birki Clog

The Birkenstock Super-Birki Clog is built with a water-resistant PU upper that stops liquids from entering, keeping the foot dry and comfy with exposure to limited amounts of water and other moisture sources. It’s also resistant to dirt, oil, and grease, making it a great choice for use in professional kitchens since the material won’t easily degrade when exposed to these substances. This clog can easily be disinfected and washed in temperatures reaching up to 60° Celsius, so it’s also ideal for healthcare and hospital settings while being versatile enough for outdoor use. The cork-latex footbed is designed to conform to the foot’s natural shape, offering superb comfort that cradles the foot all day long. It supports the foot’s proper alignment to stabilize walking on different surfaces. However, it tends to feel too warm with long hours of use because it doesn’t have perforations on the upper.

Sloggers Waterproof Rain and Garden Shoe

The Sloggers Waterproof Rain and Garden Shoe is made with a 100% recyclable material that can easily be washed clean at the end of a busy workday. That way, you won’t need to worry about the difficulties of getting rid of the dirt and mud that may have accumulated on the clog’s surfaces. It’s available in a wide range of patterns to easily match your mood or personal style preference. The signature All-Day Comfort insole creates a comfortable base that cradles the foot, protecting it from the pain that can come from walking for extended periods. The aggressive tread pattern delivers strong traction, making it safer to walk over tricky surfaces without risking your safety. It can turn uncomfortably warm, though, as its upper isn’t built with ventilation holes.

Conclusion & Verdict

The Crocs Classic All Terrain Clog is as comfortable as the beloved classic Crocs clog, with a few extras thrown in for enhanced performance. I liked the outsole’s aggressive tread pattern because it made this clog grippier and safer to use on tricky surfaces. The adjustable heel strap is another wonderful enhancement, making it easier to customize the clog’s fit for increased comfort and stability. I enjoyed the clog’s breathable design, with the perforated upper encouraging good airflow to prevent overheating problems. However, without waterproof components, this clog won’t be able to keep your foot dry in exceptionally wet conditions.
