It features the exclusive DuraStretch fabric that gives me more freedom to move naturally without feeling uncomfortable. I loved the lightweight structure of this Jacket as it made moving around much easier without the extra weight to slow me down. The water-repellent shell protected against liquid penetration, keeping me comfortably dry when working outdoors in light rain and in conditions exposed to wetness. I appreciated the Cool Climate Insulation working to deliver lightweight warmth without the added bulk, which kept me comfortable when the temperature dropped a bit while I worked on different tasks. Performance of Ariat Rebar Cloud 9 Insulated Jacket

Comfort

The Ariat Rebar Cloud 9 Insulated Jacket may have a lightweight design, but I consider it a heavyweight in terms of comfort.

Moving around with this Jacket was almost effortless, thanks to the exclusive technologies focused on enhanced mobility. I loved how the DuraStretch fabric quickly stretched to adjust to my body’s motion. Since the Jacket didn’t have stiff materials that limit movements, I could enjoy more freedom to do different tasks on the job site in the most comfortable way.

I was impressed with the Greater Arm Mobility technology that worked together with the stretchable jacket material.

This technology enhanced the arm sections, enabling me to stretch my arms to reach for objects easily. Without rigid fabrics getting in the way, I could complete more tasks more quickly and efficiently without compromising a comfortable experience.

With the Jacket’s thin, lightweight structure, I was surprised to discover that it had built-in insulation.

The Cool Climate insulation offered welcome warmth that worked well to keep me comfortable in slightly cold environments.

This enhancement didn’t have the overly bulky feel of other insulation materials, so the Jacket maintained its reduced weight even as it protected against an uncomfortable chilled feeling. I also liked the fleece lining that was fitted into the hand pockets as it enveloped my hands in cozy warmth when I was in low-temperature areas.

Weight

This is a well-made jacket that maintains its reduced weight, which was surprising considering that it’s also insulated. In addition, the lightweight design and materials significantly contributed to the comfort I enjoyed using this Jacket.

Based on our measurements, as shown in the image above, its weight is approximately 1.63 lbs / 0.74kg / 26 oz – which is light for a work jacket!

Since it didn’t have the bulky structure usually featured in other work jackets, it was easier for me to move around more quickly and comfortably.

Without heavy materials weighing it down, this Jacket provided the protection I needed while allowing ease of movement simultaneously.

Image

Fit and Sizing

This Jacket is true to its size and had a regular fit. Even if it didn’t have the relaxed fit that I normally associate with exceptional comfort, this is still a standout for comfortable work jackets. The materials used made this Jacket a winner in terms of fit and sizing. I’m impressed with the stretchy fabric that allows a wider range of motion, making it easier to enjoy unrestricted mobility without the extra space inside the Jacket.

Image

Waterproofing

The Jacket’s shell is made with a water-repellent material that offers reliable protection in variable weather conditions.

With this Jacket on, I could continue working on different outdoor tasks even when it started raining. I felt confident because I knew the Jacket wouldn’t let me get wet as it efficiently stopped the rain and other wet elements from entering.

Image

Breathability

This isn’t the most breathable Jacket I’ve used, especially with the insulation material fitted in. However, the lightweight materials (including the shell and insulation) still allow a bit of air to get in and circulate. This prevents the interior from heating up quickly, so I didn’t feel uncomfortably sweaty when I used the Jacket in slightly warmer conditions.

Quality and Durability

The Ariat Rebar Cloud 9 Insulated Jacket is a premium jacket from a well-known sports or activity brand. I like this silhouette because it’s versatile – it can be worn on the job and even for casual use or sports activities. Moreover, since it’s not too bulky, it’s easy to pair with different outfits without the garment looking out of place.

The zip chest pocket had enough space to hold my phone, keys, and small tools I needed to carry around for the day.

The hand pockets had a fleece lining that quickly warmed up my hands when needed and zippers for better security. This Jacket is fitted with a quilted hood, adding an interesting texture to the top part of the garment.

This Jacket stands out with comfortable features.

It’s made from the highly flexible, exclusive material called DuraStretch that easily follows the body’s movements.

I appreciated the Greater Arm Mobility technology that worked in tandem with the stretchy material for superb mobility. The technology made it possible for me to stretch and reach for items easily without stiff materials that can be uncomfortable and limit my mobility.

I’m impressed that this Jacket came with a water-repellent shell that protected me from getting wet in light rain. Even better, the stretch fleece panels are waterproof, so there’s no way that liquids can seep into the Jacket easily when exposed to moisture sources. The Cool Climate insulation provided just enough warmth to keep me moving comfortably when the weather got chilly. It didn’t add a lot of bulk to the Jacket, so it easily maintained its reduced weight.

This Jacket was equipped with abrasion-resistant materials on the shoulders and elbows. The enhancements protected these high-wear areas from premature damage, especially when the Jacket is used regularly for strenuous activities.

However, the Jacket’s construction is quite thin, so it’s unsuitable for harsh or extreme activities and environments.

The Challengers

Carhartt Quick Duck Full Swing Cryder Jacket

The Carhartt Quick Duck Full Swing Cryder Jacket features the exclusive Rain Defender technology that allows water to easily slip off the surface, preventing it from seeping in to maintain comfortable dryness even in rainy weather conditions. The 3M Thinsulate insulation preserves much-needed warmth but only adds a little bulk, so the Jacket feels comfortable even with all-day use. The pockets fitted into the interior and exterior are roomier than those seen in other jackets, so there’s more space to store tools, gadgets, and other essential items. The loose fit and stretchable fabric make it easy to enjoy a wider range of motion without being hampered by stiff materials. The main seams are triple-stitched to increase reliable strength and durability. This Jacket’s sleeves may be too long, and the design isn’t ideal for severely cold weather.

Dickies Sherpa Lined Duck Jacket

The Dickies Sherpa-Lined Duck Jacket is comfortably lightweight. It’s much lighter than other jackets with similar silhouettes, making it ideal for all-day use since it doesn’t weigh down on the body. The Sherpa lining is fitted into the body and hood to maintain a cozy warmth, so it’s easier to work in cold environments without feeling uncomfortable. Quilted nylon lines the sleeves to warm the arms while adding a welcome softness. This material also works to help the arms get into and out of the sleeves for superior convenience. The Jacket has inner and outer pockets where different items – including tools and personal belongings – can be stashed so they can be brought around for the day’s work. However, this Jacket isn’t made with waterproof materials and doesn’t have insulation, so it’s not suitable for extremely cold and wet settings.

Timberland PRO Men’s Dry Shift Max Jacket

The Timberland PRO Men’s Dry Shift Max Jacket has a solid build that can easily keep up with tough conditions. It uses the proprietary RainProof waterproof lining that seals out water, mud, and other moisture sources to keep the interior comfortably dry while working in areas exposed to wet elements. This lining is also breathable and allows more air to flow freely throughout the Jacket, preventing it from overheating even with long hours of use.

The storm flap, full-length zipper, and snow cuffs work together to ensure that moisture cannot seep in easily. The Jacket easily maintains a comfy warmth, thanks to the lightweight Thermolite insulation and fleece lining that are fitted in. In addition, Cordura enhancements on the arms and shoulders make these components more resistant to damage. This is an extremely warm jacket, though, so it’s not recommended for settings with normal (non-winter) temperatures.

Carhartt Men’s Big Tall Storm Defender Loose Fit Jacket

The Carhartt Men’s Big Tall Storm Defender Loose Fit Jacket has a robust structure and uses premium materials for superior performance in different work settings. The shell is reinforced with Storm Defender waterproof technology to effectively block liquid penetration, ensuring that rain, mud, and other wet elements won’t be able to get in. Even the zipper and seams are waterproof to guarantee comfortable dryness while working in the rain and other moisture-filled surroundings. The adjustable hem, hood, and cuffs offer convenient ways of personalizing the fit to make the Jacket comfortable for all-day use. Interior and exterior pockets offer ample storage space for small items that need to be carried around for the workday. In addition, the loose fit allows a wider range of motion for comfortable movements on and off the worksite. However, this Jacket isn’t insulated, so it’s unsuitable for severely cold conditions.

Dickies Fleece Hooded Flannel Shirt Jacket

The Dickies Fleece Hooded Flannel Shirt Jacket showcases an exceptionally lightweight design while providing warmth for comfort during chilly days. It’s much lighter than a regular work jacket and weighs almost like a hooded sweatshirt, so it stays comfortable even after long hours without the bulky feel. The cotton used in this Jacket comes from a sustainable source, making this an ideal choice for those looking for more eco-friendly products. It’s also quite soft and moves gently against the skin, with the flannel print adding an interesting dimension to work and casual outfits. The fleece material lining the hood and handwarmer pockets delivers ample warmth for a more comfortable experience. It should be noted that as this Jacket doesn’t have proper insulation and isn’t waterproof, it isn’t recommended for extreme weather conditions.
